Herdsires
At Triple V Ranch, our herdsires are the backbone of our cattle operation. An incredible amount of time goes into herdsire selection to improve both our own operation and, through their sons, our customers' operations. We do occasionally select an AI sire to complement our bull battery. These are bulls that have a proven track record and have something special to offer the Canadian Beef industry.
Whether the herdsire is black or red, we concentrate on producing cattle with the most efficiency possible while maximizing the returns to the ranch. Our herd bulls must produce efficient cows.

- Cows that flourish under harsh conditions. They are able to maintain themselves strictly on a forage diet (no grain required).
- Cows that calve unassisted and calves that nurse unassisted.
- Cows that hold their condition on forage and rebreed without being pampered.
- Cows that are moderate in size (1100 - 1300 lbs). Thick, deep and easy fleshing with the kind of udders that feet that will last and not be a headache at any time in their productive lifetime.
- In short, productive cows.
